Ziyad Al-Zahir or Ziyad Abu Al-Saud Al-Zaher Zaidani (1946 - 17 July 2021) is a Palestinian plastic artist and engineer, famous for being one of the most skilled painters in the occupied Palestinian interior, where many exhibitions were held for him. Traces of Zahir al-Omar (1695-1775) traced his vast fortresses in Galilee and his mighty armies.

his life
Ziyad Al-Zahir (nicknamed Abu Tariq) was born in the city of Nazareth in 1946, where he studied primary and secondary, and then completed the study of architecture at the University of Haifa. He also studied painting for 3 years, divided between the Municipal Cultural Center in Nazareth (1970), the Mazraa College (1992) and the University of Haifa (1993). He worked as an architect in his own office in Nazareth.

Ziad participated in many festivals and exhibitions of fine art locally and abroad, and his drawings were distinguished by their historical and historical character on the history of Palestine. The sources mention that Ziyad is one of the most important researchers in the history of Nazareth, as he used to draw the dynasties and branches of the families of Nazareth in the form of a tree with all its branches.

Ziyad describes himself as a descendant of the leader Zahir al-Omar al-Zaydani (1695 - 1775), one of the rulers of Palestine in the Ottoman era. This led to him tracing the traces of Zahir al-Omar and drawing his vast castles in Galilee and his mighty armies. In 2018, the book “Sheikh Zahir Al-Omar Al-Zaydani” was published by the historian Mahmoud Yazbek, and the picture of Zahir Al-Omar drawn by Ziyad Al-Zahir was the cover of the book.

It is also mentioned that Ziyad Al-Zahir is married and has a son and two daughters.
