Jamel Mahmoud Abu Subaih (August 28, 1953 AD) is a Jordanian poet and journalist of Palestinian origin. He was born in Ain al-Sultan camp in Jericho. He studied in Amman, Damascus and Beirut. He worked as a literary editor for a number of Gulf Arab newspapers and published his poetry in magazines, newspapers and specialized ones. He has many collections of poetry.

Jamil Mahmoud Abu Sbeih was born on August 28, 1953 / Dhu al-Hijjah 18, 1372 in Ain al-Sultan camp, on the western side of the city of Jericho. He graduated from high school at the Arab School in Amman in 1970 AD, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and literature from the University of Damascus in 1975 AD, then a diploma in Arabic language from Saint Joseph University in Lebanon in 1979 AD, then a diploma in philosophy from the University of Jordan in 1986 AD.
Khaled Abu Khaled was the first poet to present his poems to him in the first year of his studies at the University of Damascus, and he encouraged him.
He worked as a literary editor for a number of Gulf Arab newspapers. From 1979 until 2002, he worked as a government employee in Qatar, and in the UAE newspaper Al-Ittihad.
He is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association, and has chaired its branch in Zarqa since 2011. He is also a member of the General Union of Arab Writers, the Jordanian and Arab House of Poetry, and head of the Zarqa International Poetry Festival Committee and a member of the Asian and African Writers Union. He returned from Doha to Zarqa in 2010. The Jordanian Writers Association honored him on May 14, 2014.
