Khairiya Qasimia (born 1936 in Haifa , Palestine, died August 5, 2014 in Damascus ) [1] [2] is a late Palestinian writer, historian, and researcher . [3] She was born in Haifa in the midst of the Great Palestinian Revolution, then she took refuge with her family in Damascus in 1948. [2] She obtained a PhD in Modern and Contemporary Arab History in 1975 from Cairo University. [4] She worked as a consultant in the Documents Department at the Palestinian Research Center in Beirut, a lecturer at the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo, and a professor in the History Department at the Faculty of Arts , Damascus University . She was also a member of the Arab History Writing Committee at the same university.
