Professor Abdel-Raouf Muhammad Al-Hijazi, born in Tamra in the year 1959, is a Palestinian Arab scientist belonging to the Arabs of 1948. He made global discoveries in the fields of inventing drugs that protect the brain in cases of strokes, which turned into the Start-Up Company under his management.

Abdel Raouf Hegazy was born in Tamra in 1959 and later lived in Shuafat, Jerusalem District. He finished high school in the village. Then he moved to study medicine in Spain and then returned to his country. He received an honorary degree in biochemistry. In 1994 he went to the University of Pennsylvania to continue his research. During his stay in the United States, he was awarded the title of lecturer in 1995, in 2000 he obtained the title of senior lecturer, and in 2007 he was promoted to become a professor of medicine.
