Iskandar Qubti (born in 1975 in Jaffa) is a Palestinian film director, born and raised in Jaffa.

His mother, Maryam, is a teacher and principal of the Jaffa Arab Democratic School, and his father, Elijah, is a carpenter. Qotbi received his BA from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion.

His first feature film "Ajami" won the Israeli Ophir Prize, and the "Special Camera" award at the Cannes Film Festival. His film was also nominated for the 82nd Academy Awards in the category of Best Foreign Film, and has won more than 15 awards worldwide.

Previously, he worked as a mechanical engineer in his field of study. He also wrote, directed and edited many fictional, documentary and experimental short films. Copti was a jury member of the Tribeca Film Festival as well as the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 2010 and the Chair of the Human Rights Prize at the Istanbul International Film Festival in 2011. He was among the team members who launched the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and founded the Doha Film Institute (DFI), where Headed the education department at DFI until November 2011.
