Hafez Fathi Hafez al-Nimr (born May 29, 1947 in Nablus) is a Palestinian politician and diplomat, who was ambassador to Poland between 2000 and 2005, and to Slovakia between 2006 and 2010.


Hafez al-Nimr was born in the city of Nablus on May 29, 1947, during the British Mandate period over Palestine. He was educated in city schools and An-Najah National College. He received his bachelor's degree from the Sudanese Military College in Khartoum in 1970. He also obtained a master's degree from Warsaw University in Poland in 1985.


He worked as Chargé d'Affairs for the Palestine Liberation Organization's representative office in Yugoslavia between 1975 and 1980.

He served as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Poland between 2000 and 2005, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Slovakia between 2006 and 2010.

Was assigned the duties of Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Refugees and Expatriates in the year 2011.

 

Achievements and Awards

Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski awarded him the Knight's Medal on October 4, 2005.
