Information

Ahmed Fawzi Khaled al-Deek (born February 24, 1960 in Kafr al-Deek) is a Palestinian sociologist and diplomat and a member of the Fatah movement. He represented the Palestine Liberation Organization in Geneva in 1991, and became a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council in the 1996 elections for the Salfit district district after winning 6,624 votes, and later as ambassador to Yemen in 2007. He is currently the political advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.

On January 29, 2006, the Central Committee of Fatah decided to dismiss him from the Fatah movement, in implementation of the decision of the movement’s Revolutionary Council on November 7, 2005, considering everyone who ran for the second Palestinian legislative elections and did not abide by the movement’s decisions outside the ranks and frameworks of the movement.

He received his BA in Sociology from Birzeit University in 1982. He also obtained his MA and PhD degrees in the same discipline from universities in Tunisia.
