Issa Qassisieh (1964 in Jerusalem ) is a Palestinian politician and diplomat . He served as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Holy See , [1] and holds the position of Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Knights of Malta . [2] [3]
Growing up and educational attainment [ edit ]
Issa Jamil Qassisieh was born in 1964 in Jerusalem to a Greek Orthodox Palestinian family . He obtained a bachelor's degree in English literature from Bethlehem University, a master's degree in international relations from Birzeit University , and studied public administration at the Kennedy School of Government and Diplomacy at the University of Birmingham .
Political life [ edit ]
Qassisiyeh served in several positions in the Palestine Liberation Organization and later the Palestinian National Authority , where he was director of international relations at Orient House , and within the Palestinian delegation for negotiations on churches and issues related to Jerusalem.
In 2004, he was appointed Director General of the General Personnel Office to work in the Office of Ecclesiastical Affairs. [4] According to a presidential decree in 2007, he was part of the Supreme Presidential Committee for the Follow-up of Christian Affairs. [5] He continued to be a member of the committee after the 2008 amendment. [6] And the 2016 amendment. [7]
In 2013, he was appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Holy See , [1] and in 2017 he was appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Knights of Malta . [3]
