Amin Ramzi Darwish Maqboul (Abu Fouad; born December 1, 1951 in Nablus) is a Palestinian sociologist, politician and diplomat, a member of the Fatah movement and its Revolutionary Council, and a member of the Palestinian Central Council between 2005 and 2016. He was the ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria between 2019 and 2021.

 

Educational attainment

Maqbool received his basic, preparatory, and secondary school education in Nablus, and obtained a BA in Sociology from An-Najah National University.

 

practical life

On October 12, 1997, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the General Consumer Economic Corporation (Al-Sakhra).

 

On July 22, 2005, he was appointed Undersecretary in the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security. He held the position until 2009.

 

In 2009, he won the elections for the Fatah Revolutionary Council that was held during the Sixth Fatah Movement Conference in Bethlehem and became a member of it, and assumed the secretariat.

 

On March 8, 2010, he was appointed an advisor with the rank of minister to the President of the Palestinian National Authority. On February 7, 2015, he was appointed as a member of the Supreme National Committee for Follow-up with the International Criminal Court.

 

On February 22, 2019, he was appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria. In October 2021, it was announced that his duties had ended.
