Sheikh Abu Abbas Ahmed bin Rashid bin Tarkhan bin Shihab al-Din al-Malkawi [a] scholar , mufti , teacher, and judge . He was born in the town of Malka , Irbid , which is located in the north of Jordan , and he moved to Damascus and took knowledge from the scholars there. One of the respected imam scholars. He worked in jurisprudence , hadith , grammar, and principles . He was a well-known judge and was called the Judge of Judges.  He was the jurist of the Levant and participated in ruling the Mamluk state .  He supported the people of the year . He heard many Musnads and was accompanied by several hadith scholars. His companion was Shihab al-Din al-Zuhri, a descendant of Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri .

Al-Maqrizi said that he was proficient in issuing fatwas and teaching jurisprudence , loved the Sunnah and was constantly busy.  He excelled in rulings, jurisprudence, and the fundamentals of religion and its sciences, and was known as one of the notables and sheikhs of Damascus . He taught at the Al-Iqrawiyya , Al-Shamiya and Al-Jawaniyya schools. He loved hadith and Sunnah, and he always sat in the Umayyad Mosque, praying and conducting teaching sessions for his students.  He was assigned to the works and used to write well-edited fatwas on fatwas , and he became famous for that until he became a judge. 

It was mentioned about him

Shams al-Din al-Sakhawi said : [3] “There is no one else in Damascus who has taken knowledge on its own.” As his companion Shihab al-Din said: “There is no one in Damascus who carries the flag on his face except Al-Malkawi.”  Ibn Nasser al-Din mentioned him in his book Al-Rad Al-Wafir to those who claimed that whoever called Ibn Taymiyyah Sheikh Al-Islam is an infidel , [1] and the historian of Islam, the scholar and scholar Al-Hafiz Shihab Al-Din Abi Al-Abbas Ahmad bin Hajji Al-Saadi Al-Hasabani, mentioned him in his dictionary, The History of Ibn Hajji , and he marked his name with the sign of Sama’ah. From him, and some prominent scholars saw it as a translation by the jurist of the Levant. [1] It was reported that he used to venerate Sheikh Taqi al-Din Ibn Taymiyyah . [1] Ibn al-Imad al-Hanbali wrote about him in his book Nuggets of Gold  , Taj al-Din al-Subki wrote about him in the book The Great Shafi’i Classes , and Abd al-Qadir bin Muhammad al-Nuaimi wrote about him in the book al-Daris fi Tarikh al-Madrasas .  The sheikh of Arab historians, Taqi al-Din al-Maqrizi, mentioned him in his book, Durar al-Aqwad al-Faridah fi Biographies of the Useful Notables, and said about him that he was called the jurist of the Levant .

His family

Sheikh Ahmed was born in the town of Malka , Irbid, northern Jordan. Among them, it was attributed to her with the name Al-Malkawi. Born into a family known for its piety, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Musa Al Malkawi is the nephew of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid. He worked in jurisprudence, memorized the curriculum, and died in the year 801 AH .

His death 

It is reported that he died in Ramadan in the year 803 AH / 1400 AD , [13] after a great turmoil known as the Battle of Timur occurred, which caused his death,  as food was prevented from him until he died of starvation.
