Yusuf bin Ismail bin Yusuf bin Ismail bin Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Nabhani (1265 - 1350 AH) is a judge , poet, writer , and Sufi jurist. Sheikh Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani , the founder of Hizb ut-Tahrir , found more than praises of the Messenger of God Muhammad , peace and blessings of God be upon him, in composition, transmission, narration, creation, and codification. He assumed the position of judicial prosecutor in the Jenin district from Nablus, then he traveled to Istanbul , and worked as an editor for Al-Jawa’ib newspaper and proofreading Arabic books. Then he was appointed as a judge in the Kurdish Sanjak district , then president of the Penal Court in Latakia , then the Penal Court in Jerusalem , then he was promoted to Presidency of the Beirut Court of Rights .

His birth and upbringing 

He was born in the village of Ijzim in the year 1265 AH/1849 AD, and his lineage is from the Banu Nabhan, Arabs of the desert in Palestine . They settled in the village of Ijzim , in which he was born, which is affiliated with Haifa in northern Palestine . He read the Qur’an to his father, Sheikh Ismail Al-Nabhani, then he sent him to Egypt to seek knowledge at Al-Azhar Mosque. He began there from the first Saturday of Muharram in the year 1283 AH until Rajab in the year 1289 AH. During this period he learned from the Islamic sciences and their means from the professors and sheikhs of Al-Azhar, one of whom was Sheikh Ibrahim. Al-Saqqa Al-Shafi’i had to study for three years, and he read to him the explanations of Al-Tahrir and Al-Manhaj by Sheikh Al-Islam Zakaria Al-Ansari, with their two footnotes by Al-Sharqawi and Al-Bujayrimi.

Among his sheikhs are Shams al-Din Muhammad al-Anbabi al-Shafi’i, the sheikh of the Al-Azhar Mosque, who taught him for two years in Sharh al-Ghaya by Ibn Qasim and al-Khatib and others, and Abdul Qadir al-Rafi’i al-Hanafi al-Tarabulsi, the sheikh of the Riwaq al-Shawam, and Yusuf al-Barqawi al-Hanbali, the sheikh of the Hanbali ruwaq. Then he returned to his country, where he resided in the city of Akka as a teacher of religion and Arabic sciences.

His positions 

He held many jobs and positions other than teaching. He served as the judicial prosecutor in Jenin in the year 1290 AH / 1873 AD, then he went to the House of the Ottoman Caliphate in Istanbul in the year 1293 AH / 1876 AD and remained there for two and a half years, where he worked as an editor in Al-Jawa’ib newspaper .

Then he left for his country, and was appointed as a judge in the state of Mosul in Kuy Sanjak, one of the mother lands of the Kurds, for a period of five months, and he left it in the year 1296 AH / 1879 AD for the Levant , then he went to the house of the Caliphate in Istanbul in the year 1297 AH / 1880 AD and resided there for about two years. There he wrote his book “The Everlasting Honor of the Family of Muhammad” and emerged from it as president of the Penal Court in Latakia , where he came in the year 1300 AH/1883 AD, where he resided for about five years. He then assumed the presidency of the Penal Court in Jerusalem , where he met Sheikh Hassan bin Halawa al-Ghazi, who taught him the Qadiriyya method of Sufism , and taught him some of the dhikr and prayers. He remained there for less than a year, when he left it as president of the Court of Rights in Beirut , which he arrived in the year 1305 AH / 1887 AD. He remained there for nearly twenty years, until he departed in the year 1327 AH/1909 AD, and wrote all of his books there, and printed most of them. Then he left for Medina next to the Messenger of God, Muhammad, and remained there until the declaration of World War I , after which he returned to the Levant . .

A group of the greatest scholars of his time praised him, read his book “Evidence of the Truth in Seeking Help from the Master of Creation,” and agreed with him on the opinions he wrote, and they are:
